In 2003, Dr. Shirley Press founded the Leah and Gershon Press Holocaust Survivor Program under the auspices of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation. The purpose of the foundation is to help Holocaust survivors in need. Dr. Press named the foundation in honor of her parents both of whom were Holocaust survivors. To donate, please email Shirley at firstname.lastname@example.org.
An archivist at heart, Dr. Shirley Press has painstakingly collected and catalogued her parents’ historical photos from the Holocaust. She has submitted her parents’ biographies and collection of family photos to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives. This is an ongoing project for Dr. Press.
